Tinted Moisturizer October 3, 2011

I love tinted moisturizer.

It has saved my femininity. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

I discovered tinted moisturizer about 5 years ago as a mother of two very young little boys. At the time we were still milking cows, feeding bottle calves and scraping tractor loads of manure from the lot.

I’m not even exaggerating when I say tractor LOADS.

I wish I were.

Needless to say, on those hot summer days, or any day for that matter, my makeup simply melted off of my face every time I so much as looked at the dairy barn. I broke out in a sweat just thinking about the days’ work ahead. But I had to wear makeup to cover up the blemishes caused from wearing makeup in the heat.

If that even makes any sense.

It was really quite disturbing.

I decided it was time to try something else. At first, I decided to go without makeup.

Then, much to my family’s relief, I found tinted moisturizer. When I applied the tinted moisturizer for the first time, it immediately gave my skin a radiance like no other beauty product had ever given me before. It didn’t hide all the blemishes, but it did even out my skin tone while moisturizing my dehydrated skin. And if that wasn’t enough, it had a touch of SPF added in to keep me from looking like a prune.

Soon, the blemishes were gone.

And now, rather than apply foundation or powder or powder base or base or any combination thereof…

I simply apply tinted moisturizer.

It’s sheer, lightweight and completely natural looking.

And I like it muy much!

This is not a paid advertisement. I just feel the need to spread the love.

  1. I too love tinted moisturizer. My favorite is made by Philosophy. A bit pricey compared to drugstore brands but very worth it my opinion.

  2. “Much to my family’s relief I found tinted moisturizer”…LOL that’s too funny. I work with my mom everyday, and if show up without lipstick on, she starts digging in her purse 🙂 Like you, I prefer just a touch of makeup, but, ahem…us older girls have to wear a little more sometimes!

  3. (Ahem … What is moisturizer?)
